- Do your best to have zuhd, meaning have less things of the dunya to beconcerned about. For example, it’s very helpful to have a clean and fast house. Muslim homes traditionally were very sparse.
- Look at what you’re pursuing with your time and consider if it’s worth your time. Prioritize if it’s worth it in comparison to other things you want to accomplish.
- Try your best to always have sincerity to Allah. Transfer your ibadah (worship of Allah) into your actions of the dunya. Someone who is always remembering the meeting with Allah is going to remember that the mundane actions of the dunya are part of their worship of Allah.
- The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to have a tongue always fresh with the remembrance of Allah. So train yourself even if it’s only a repetition of dhikr that you don’t feel in your heart. After a while, it will reach down into your heart.
