From narrations of the Prophetic Traditions, we see that among those the Qur’an benefits are: the one who recites even a single letter; the one who recites well and the one who struggles with reciting; the one who recites singly and the one who recites in a group; the group that studies it as well as the group that simply recites; and the one who uses it as a “charm” or source of healing. Unfortunately, the reality of some Western and Western-influenced Muslims is that they ignore these latter modes of benefiting from the Qur’an, and value only the command to ponder its meanings.
